Summary

In Chapter 7, they left the tea house. Zhengdan expressed the wish to visit the town while they still had the chance. Fanli denied the request but relented when Xishi pressed him to allow it, surprising Luyi. At a market stall, Xishi and Fanli were mistaken for young lovers. The stall owner offered to sell them matching bracelets, which they purchased. The moment was disturbed when Wu soldier on horseback galloped through the market disturbing the peace and endangering the surrounding people. Xishi pulled a young woman out of the way of the horses, saving her life. Xishi told the woman that the Wu are all monsters and was surprised when the woman replied that she was Wu herself. Zhengdan said that one of the soldiers had been General Ma: the man she held responsible for her father’s death in battle.
