Sibling Dex

Sibling Dex is the main character of the novel. They are a monk in a monastery devoted to Allalae, one of the child gods in the religious structure on Panga. At the beginning of the novel, however, they find themself lost in life, attempting to find a purpose for themself amid the hustle and bustle of the city. They vow to leave the city and become what is known as a tea monk somewhere in the country. A tea monk is basically a barista whose responsibilities extend to listening to their customers’ personal problems and helping them. We later learn they were inspired to become a tea monk as a child when their father took them to a tea house in a monastery devoted to Allalae.
