Ku Kei Summary

Ensel, Lanik's father, tries to show joy at the comforting environment of the forest, but there is sadness as he has had to flee his kingdom. Lanik keeps listening for the voice of the rock, as he has learned in Schwartz, but he only hears a low, unidentifiable whisper. It is sleepy but also full of anger and hatred, very disturbing. He allows himself to sink into the earth and reach the rock and there the rock sounds the same. When Lanik rises up to the surface, his father is scared to death since he has been gone for an hour, but Lanik says he just learns these things in Schwartz. He reveals that someone has done something to alter time in this place. They keep walking but the sun doesn't go down and finally Lanik gets tired and lies down...
