The residents of Chipping Cleghorn read an announcement in the Gazette of a murder at the home of Letitia Blacklock. Curiosity leads the townspeople to the home, and they discover that the announcement was quite real. A stranger appears, the lights go out, and the stranger ends up dead with a gun next to him. Inspector Craddock takes on the case with the help of a quiet, nosy older lady named Mrs. Marple. As they dig further into the mystery, it becomes more dangerous and more curious than they ever anticipated.
