Summary

Chapter Six explains that the Ministry was founded in 1885 and moved to Cairo in 1900. Fatma looks at clockwork made by the Djinn that runs the entire ministry before she meets Agent Hamed. He asks about the case before telling her that the office is betting on how long Fatma will keep her partner. After seeing Hadia’s desk in her space, Fatma goes to Director Amir and says she does not need a partner. Amir says Hadia will be good for Fatma and the commissioners demand they work together. Reluctantly, Fatma agrees and Hadia shows all of the files she gathered on the case from the police including information on the missing cult members. Fatma approves of Hadia’s information.
