Summary

In Chapter 8, Robert contacts Patrick to set up another meeting. Robert wants to hear more of Patrick’s story. Robert is also somewhat frustrated with his domestic life as a parent and wants to spend time with an adult, out of the house. After Robert’s previous meeting with Patrick, he wrote down everything Patrick had told him. Robert had altered some details as he saw fit. It becomes evident that the previous chapter’s version of Patrick’s story was the version that Robert wrote down, and not the version that Patrick told directly to Robert. Robert talks to Karijn about Patrick. Robert does not tell her that Patrick has not given Robert permission to write down the things Patrick has told to him.
