Summary

In Chapter 32, Rhysand and Feyre feel they should go along. Cassian seems to be downplaying the danger prompting Nesta to feel a connection with Azriel “Against Cassian's utter insanity” (348). Elain does not put in an appearance. Elain dismisses it, feeling “Elain was like a dog, loyal to whatever master kept her fed and in comfort” (348). Feyre is clearly worried about Nesta and urges her to be wary. Nesta opts not to respond that she is always wary. Azriel's shadows surround them and they winnow away. Azriel notices there are no sounds of life, not even insects. The darkness is “inky.” They discuss the various creatures that might live here. These creatures are not in prison because they are not responsible for the way they are designed. Nesta senses something amiss and Cassian realizes Azriel is not beside him.
