Eleanor H. Ayer is the author of more than fifty books for children and young adults, in the areas of history, biography, and teenage social issues. Among her titles of current interest to teens are It's Okay to Say No: Choosing Sexual Abstinence, Homeless Children, Teen Marriage, Teen Fatherhood, Stress, Depression, and Teen Suicide. Ms. Ayer earned a master's degree in literacy journalism from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Journalism. She is survived by her husband and two sons.
