Objective
The objective of this lesson is to discuss the point of view of the novel in Chapter 1 and how it influences the story. The Titan's Curse is told from a first-person point of view. What a reader knows about events and characters is determined by the point of view. Point of view determines how readers view the story and the characters in a story.

Class Discussion: Who is telling the story in Chapter 1? What pronouns are used in this chapter? Is everything that happens told from the narrator's point of view? Does anyone else tell the story?
