Objective

Objective: Personal finance is a hot topic in everyday life these days. With a dwindling economy and rising prices, everyone is affected by money, how much they need, and how little they might have. Today's objective is to discuss the role of money in everyday life.

1. As a class, have everyone talk about the things they spend money on during an average day. Students can also volunteer to give the specifics of their monetary spending for the last 24 hours.

2. Have each student write a short essay about the importance of money in their life and how satisfied they are with their current financial status.

3. Discuss the latest report on the state of the economy. Use an article from a recent newspaper to read aloud and then discuss.
