1. How did the triplets come to be called One, Two, and Three?

When the triplets were very little, Mirabel called them with her fingers. She would use One for Mab, two for Monday, and three taps on her armrest or right above her heart when she was talking about herself for Three. Eventually, they all used those nicknames for one another.

2. How does Mrs. Shriver teach history?

Mrs. Shriver is the history teacher. She does not believe in doing history in order. In ninth grade American history they did the civil rights movement, then colonial Boston, then the Civil War, then Ponce de Leon, and then the Pilgrims. When Mab asked her why she taught history out of order, she said that English is not taught in order, so she teaches history out of order.

3. Who is Pooh Lewis?

Pooh Lewis is an older lady who lives in Bourne. She gets around in a wheelchair. She was Mab's service project in middle school. The students had to pick a volunteer opportunity and then write a paper about what they learned. Pooh pretended to be blind to get someone to come to read to her. All she really wanted was some company. Mab still goes to see Pooh even though it has been four years since the program ended.
