Essay Topic 1

Write an essay analyzing Bardugo's choice to write chapters that alternate between Alex's and Darlington's points of view up until the point at which Darlington disappears. What do you think Bardugo accomplishes by switching viewpoints, and what effect does this tactic have on the reader?

Essay Topic 2

Drugs and alcohol play various different roles for Alex at different points in her life. At first, she finds they help her avoid her problems with seeing ghosts, or "Grays."
