1) Class Discussion: What are the main characters in The Last Command? How many of them are from the original Star Wars movies? Does the class think that the author relies on the reader's knowledge of those movies to develop those characters? Why or why not? Is this a good technique to use, or should Zahn have instead provided more background on the characters? Which characters will have the most impact on the story and why?
