Film Version

Watch a war movie and compare/contrast the ways that soldiers are depicted with the way that soldiers are depicted in the novel. Write a short report of your findings.

Drama

Choose one of the scenes in the novel to act out with your classmates. Each student in the group should be a part of dividing up the lines and all should speak in the scene. Have each group give a performance of their scene in front of the class on the last day of the unit.

Shadow Box

Use an empty shoebox to recreate a scene from the novel. Puncture a hole in one side so that the viewer can peer through and see the scene in 3-D.
