St. John of the Cross, the author of Dark Night of the Soul, is a very important figure within the history of the Christian Church. He helped to reform the Carmelite order of the Church and has had great influence within Christianity. This lesson will discuss the author's biography and his life's influence on his work.

Lesson

1) In-class report: Have students work both in the classroom and in the library to create a short biographical report about St. John of the Cross. Students should cover topics such as St. John's religious affiliation and his dedication to his faith.
