This character is the protagonist of the novel. In the text's prologue, entitled "The End," this character comes to the realization that she is no longer alive. Her thoughts and memories, however, continue on for the titular 10 Minutes 38 Seconds of This Strange World before the energy stored in her brain is used up. This character fled from her home in Van toward Istanbul on the day of her brother's funeral and was quickly apprehended by human traffickers who sold her for sex with strangers.

This character was 19 years old and had experienced six miscarriages by the time she gave birth to the protagonist. This character looked back on the day she finally gave birth to a live child, the protagonist, as a day that scarred her forever and exacerbated the struggles with mental illness she already had.
