Jack Carr's thriller The Terminal List is the story of Lieutenant Commander James Reece, a Navy SEAL who is powerless to stop a bad operation in Afghanistan that leaves almost his entire company dead. Reece's nightmare continues when he returns home to find his wife, his young daughter, and his unborn son murdered in an attack that was meant to kill Reece as well. Reece discovers corruption and secret experiments at the highest level of the government, kills those he holds responsible for the atrocities, and sails away, mistakenly believing one of the experiments is likely to kill him as well. The novel's main themes are greed, the effects of war, the conspiracy, right and wrong, and responsibility.
