Summary

Delia entered Caserta’s father’s old sweet shop. She immediately realized that the shop looked different from the way she had remembered it since she was viewing it from a different height than when she was younger. Also, the room was empty and left no trace of the shop Delia remembered. She lit a match and found a figure sleeping in a cot along one wall. The match’s flame went out, but she found a flashlight and saw that the figure on the bed was a black plastic bag. Amalia’s old underwear was scattered across the bed. Delia called out, but no one responded.
