Summary

Part 2, called “Mountains and Seas,” began with Chapter 29. Nesryn and Sartaq found shelter in the mountains as a storm passed. For the first time, Nesryn wished she had magic to keep her warm. Finally, they reached Sartaq’s clan of rukhin, called the Eridun, in the heart of the Tavan Mountains. Sartaq introduced Nesryn to Borte, his hearth-sister and heir to the Eridun clan. Nesryn noticed that he felt much more comfortable around his hearth family than his blood family. Sartaq told her that he considered Borte to be like a real sister to him. Borte showed them to their guest Falkan Ennar, a merchant from Adarlan. Falkan claimed to have been in the Southern Continent for two years and was shocked to learn that Dorian was the new king of Adarlan. Borte showed Nesryn to the baths in the Mountain-Hall of Altun...
