Mayfair, Oregon is a relatively small town in Oregon. It is the primary setting when the novel opens. Mayfair is where Alisa is living when Detective Riley starts investigating her. it is also the town where Alisa enrolls in high school as Lara Adams.

Mayfair High School is where Alisa enrolls as Lara Adams, a high school student that just moved to the area. The high school is where Lara meets Ray Riley, Detective Riley's son. Additionally, Lara meets Seymour Dorsten, who turns out to be Alisa's psychic twin.
