Part III, Chapter 16 Summary

On the path that Sita and Joel continue through the building and the compound, Sita continues to kill soldiers. Joel begs her to stop. They make it through the maze that leads into another prison. Sita turns the lights on so that Joel can see better and the general can see the carnage she has caused.

Sita barters with the general, who is now in the same room as Sita and Joel, to give her a nuclear bomb. The general has the bomb wheel out on the railroad cart near where he is sitting. When the general refuses to give Sita the code to set the bomb to detonate, Sita grabs him by the throat and forces the general to look into her eyes—the eyes of the witch that's going to kill him.
