Part III, Chapter 2 Summary

Sita wakes at the bottom of the lake with her leg stuck under helicopter fuselage. She swims to the surface and sees armed guards surrounding Joel on the shore. When she gets to shore, she finds a Ford Bronco of a family camping nearby and steals it. She uses her hearing, smelling and mind reading senses to follow the van that is transporting Joel to some sort of military compound.

She sees a general hand over Joel to a scientist. She realizes she has to find a way into the compound before they start analyzing Joel's blood. As she heads back to the Bronco, she realizes all of her exposed skin is glowing, which indicates the compound is using some kind of radiation.

Sita follows the scientist as he gets in his car and leaves the compound. He goes...
