Part II, Chapter 5 Summary

Alisa and Joel are sitting and eating at the end of the pier where Alisa met Slim six weeks prior. They determine that Eddie is the murderer. Joel links Alisa's friend with the murders that took place in Seaside at the same time Alisa's house blew up. Alisa admits to murdering the woman in the bathroom, but Joel doesn't believe her until she provides vivid details. She tells him her real name is Sita and convinces Joel to stay out of the investigation or he will die. She says if he follows her that he will die too. She proves her strength by telling him to arrest her and knocking his gun to the bottom of the sea.
