Chapter 13 Summary

Yaksha arrives and Sita directs him to the seat across from them. He sees that she has built a bomb. She asks if she can choose the way they die. Yaksha says he likes bombs and Sita tells him to light it. As they they talk and wait for the bomb to go off, Yaksha tries to get Sita to admit that Krishna made her take a second vow. She tells him that he said where there is love there is his grace. Yaksha says he told him the same thing. Yaksha tells Sita and Ray to leave. They run, but when the explosion occurs, the splintered leg of Sita's beloved piano stakes Sita through the heart. Sita wonders if she is going to die.
