Summary

In Chapter 47, Stu, Frannie, Harold, and Glen are ambushed on the highway by a gang of men wanting Frannie. As the four men in the gang opened fire on Stu and the others, a blond woman, later identified as Dayna Jurgens, urged the women into action, fighting against the men who had kidnapped them. A firefight followed in which all the enemy men and three of the women they had been holding captive were killed.

Stu’s group along with the five women they rescued spent the night in a nearby farmhouse. As Dayna told the story of how the men had intentionally set in wait because one of them wanted Frannie, Frannie noticed how pretty Dayna was. Harold seemed aware of Frannie’s concern.
