Daniel goes to Nuria's burial at the Montjuic cemetery. There were only a couple of people there to say their last farewell to Nuria. On the way home, one of the police who always accompany Fumero offers Daniel a ride. This policeman also seemed more sympathetic than the others. His name is Enrique Palacios and he has always seemed to be a better man than his companions. Palacios tells Daniel that Nuria died in his arms. Palacios gives Daniel a message from Nuria. Nuria says that there is a worse prison than words. She tells him to let Penélope go. Daniel realizes that the message is not for him but for Julián Carax.

Daniel build up courage and goes to talk to old man Isaac, Nuria's.....
