Daniel and Fermin begin their investigations by going to the school. Before going though, Fermin outline's what they know of Carax. They know that Julian and Jorge Aldaya were childhood friends and went to school together. A conflict arises that ruins the friendship. The obvious problem would be Julian's relationship with Penelope, Jorge's sister. In 1919 Julian escapes to Paris.
