Section 15: Chapters 40 & 41 Summary

In Chapter 40: I Ruin a Rather Important Spell, Sadie transports the pyramid and everyone in or around it to Washington, DC where the capstone has difficulty maintaining its power. As Carter battles Set, Sadie begins saying the spell, but as it nears completion, she notices snake forming in the clouds. She throws the Feather of Truth into the sky, breaking the spell and showing the serpent to Carter and Set. While Set is immobilized since Sadie spoke his true name, she agrees to release him if he will return to the Duat and return to earth only when they need his help fighting Apophis. Zia dies, but the children realize she was only a shabti; Iskandar hid Zia when she was possessed by Nephthys. As Desjardins fumes about Carter and Sadie releasing Set, they relinquish their gods as they tell him...
