Section 11: Chapters 31-33 Summary

In Chapter 31: I Deliver a Love Note, Sadie cries when she wakes and learns that Bast sacrificed herself to defeat Sobek, but she sleeps when Khufu gives her healing medication. When Sadie sleeps, her ba travels to visit Geb. She delivers Nut's love note, and to thank her, Geb advises her to go to the place of the crosses. Geb disappears, and Sadie returns to her body.

In Chapter 32: The Place of Crosses, Carter and Sadie will not tell Amos how they plan to defeat Set, and Amos agrees, though he is frustrated that he cannot trust himself. Amos objects when Carter suggests going to Las Cruces, New Mexico, but when Sadie connects the name of the city to Geb's message, they travel to Las Cruces where they encounter Zia.
