Section 5: Chapters 13-15 Summary

In Chapter 13: I Face the Killer Turkey, Carter tumbles from the vortex onto a cold, tile floor, and Sadie and Zia land on top of him. Explaining they are here to see the ruins of Heliopolis which are under the airport, Zia leads them through a maintenance door, down stone steps and stops at the bottom. They pass a few other people as Zia leads Carter and Sadie through a marketplace and past a building filled with children which Zia explains are initiates learning to scry. When they reach a twenty-foot tall sphinx, Zia explains they are directly under the Sphinx at Giza, but the tunnel leading up to the Sphinx has been closed because archaeologists came too close to discovering the secrets underneath.
