Section 2: Chapters 4-6 Summary

In Chapter 4: Kidnapped by a Not-So-Stranger, Carter clutches Julius' workbag as he slumps on the couch, but the inspector does not seem to even notice the bag. As the inspector threatens to charge the children, he blinks as if he has forgotten something and suddenly changes him mind and deports them instead. Grandpa is furious when he sees Amos on the front porch. Amos greets the Fausts mildly before telling Carter and Sadie they must come with him. Sadie feels betrayed as her grandparents agree with Amos. Amos draws the hieroglyph for boat on the window, and Carter points to an Egyptian reed boat docked down at the quayside. Gran reminds Sadie to take Muffin with her, and Muffin jumps into Sadie's arms. When Sadie objects again to leaving with some stranger, Amos says he is Julius' brother, hurrying...
