Summary

Gavin sits in his office in Hope, beginning to realize that nothing is simple in the town of Broken Wheel. Gavin can only assume Tom accepted money from Sara to marry her so that she could stay. The policeman is mostly amused by it all. Gavin interviews Andy and Carl first. They tell Gavin that Sara and Tom were meant to be and everyone knew it even before they themselves realized it. Gavin asks if they organized it as well, and there is no remorse in them when they admit they had. When Gavin asks about the bookstore, they assure him that although Sara spent time there, she’d never been paid and the store belonged to the town council, or to Amy Harris.
