Chapter 11

A recovering Syrinx vacations on Eden, the original Edenist habitat that orbits Jupiter. She has taken a new, younger lover named Aulie and together they walk in the parkland of the habitat. One day, Syrinx walks alone in the park until she stumbles upon the house of Wing-Tsit, founder of Edenism. He tells her that he has been dead for hundreds of years and that he can talk to her in a physical form because she is not really visiting Eden, but has been placed in a protective psychophysical environment. She is really in a bed in the care center in one of the habitats orbiting Saturn. Her access to her memories of the torture she experienced has been blocked.
