Chapter Fifty-Seven

Cold, icy air hit Thomas as he entered the Griever Hole. He was falling in the dark when his feet hit a slippery surface. He fell backward into Teresa’s arms. It was pitch black other than the beam from Teresa’s flashlight. They were standing in a ten-foot high stone cylinder. It was shiny and oily. Teresa saw the computer with a keyboard attached to it. Thomas thought it was too easy. Teresa stepped over to the computer and input the code. There was a loud bang behind them. It was a Griever that had plopped through the Hole and was heading for Thomas. He fought it off with his spear. Teresa was almost done. The Griever kept in pursuit of Thomas.
