Chapter Thirty-Five

Minho said that it was confirmed that the Grievers were leaving the Maze via the Cliff. Maybe they hadn’t tricked the four Grievers into going over the edge. The “dead” one he found ran off somewhere – perhaps, to the Cliff. Thomas thought that since the Grievers could leave the Maze via the Cliff maybe they could, too. Minho wasn’t ready to test that out but wanted to do some tests with rocks. They threw stones over the Cliff but saw nothing but gray when they looked down. Minho mentioned the notion that an optical illusion could be hiding the exit. They continued to throw rocks off the Cliff. There were no different results until Minho threw one and it disappeared.
