Chapter Fifteen

Thomas couldn’t sleep that night. The image of Ben remained in his mind. He was Banished and would become the prey of the Grievers. Being a Runner no longer seemed like a good idea. Newt woke him the next morning. Thomas would be placed with the Track-hoes that day, working in the gardens. Thomas thought of the girl and felt sad. It was absurd to think that he might be missing her.

Thomas saw Minho enter the Glade from the Maze carrying the length of pole that had the empty collar attached to it. Newt had seen only three Banishments.
