Summary

Chapter 45

The group travels through the secret tunnels and find themselves in a giant factory. There are dozens of different monsters in cages and death traps set up. The group finds the jar that contains Nico, but they also found the giant twins, Ephialtes and Otis. They reveal that they set the place up to be a grand performance, having a dramatic vision for the way that Rome should be destroyed. They free the weakened Nico, who is far too injured to help in any way. Ephialtes and Otis try to get the group to go along with the performance they have planned, also mentioning that the other demigods have been captured and that Annabeth is about to be killed.

Piper and the others manage to trick the giants into talking more. They reveal that Gaea will be free in one month, vaguely...
