Summary

Chapter 1

Annabeth and the others are flying on the Argo II, bringing it to camp Jupiter. They’re preparing the speech for when they arrive at the Roman camp, hoping to convince them to work with Camp Half-Blood to battle the evil Goddess Gaea and her army of Giants. Before they arrive, Annabeth feels a cold presence on the ship, but can’t identify where it comes from. She writes it off as her just being nervous about the upcoming meeting, and the fact that she was going to be seeing Percy again.

Terminus, the sentinel and security guard for the Roman Camp, arrives onboard the ship and forces them to disarm. They argue back and forth about what constitutes as a weapon, since Terminus finds the ship to be a weapon meaning it shouldn’t be allowed to land in the city...
