Shuffle Summary

The next week or so is a blur for both Eddie and Roland. Roland writhes in the pain of his fever and infection while Eddie struggles with detoxification and withdrawal from his drug addiction. As they both surface from their private demons, Eddie takes charge in taking care of them both. He uses the gun to shoot the strange lobster creatures in the sea and then serves the cooked meat to Roland. As Roland slowly regains his strength, Eddie tells him the story of his life and his relationship with his brother, Henry.

Eddie demands to know what they are going to do. Roland states that they will follow their Ka, or destiny. Roland tells Eddie that they should continue walking north. He shows Eddie something in the distance. As they walk closer, Eddie sees that it is a door marked "The Lady...
