Book 1 Chapter 8 Summary

Bourne is lying on his bed in the hotel room. He hears a noise outside his door and becomes alert. He jumps up and grabs his gun. The door flies open and a man bursts in. Bourne is prepared and strikes the man and overpowers him. The intruder drops his gun, and Bourne knocks him unconscious. Bourne inspects the man's belongings. He looks through his wallet and determines he is not a police officer but a hired killer. Bourne straps the man down to his bed, gathers his own things and prepares to leave the room. He realizes he is in severe pain and knows he needs a doctor.

As he walks down the hall, he is cautiously looking for a second killer. As he goes down the stairs, he sees another man hiding in the darkness. He attacks the man, shooting him in the hand. He pins the man...
