Chapter 10 Summary

Eddie and Willie learn how to crack safes and steal jewels from Doc. Willie becomes one of the most important members of Doc's crew. When they sell a small bag of jewels to one of the socialites, Willie chooses one of the diamond rings and asks the socialite if he can take the ring for his girl.

At one heist, Doc can't crack the safe. It's the first time it's ever happened to him. At this point, Willie tells Doc he's quitting the crew. He says it's time to for him to start his own crew. Willie meets Eddie at a diner to tell him it's time for them to go out on their own when Eddie tells Willie Bess is back in town and that she's getting married.

Willie gets dressed and ready for the wedding. He sits in the fifth row...
