Chapters 21-22 Summary

Augustine has returned to his truck to get the guns while Bonnie stays with Skink. Skink watches the house across the street while Bonnie wonders about the people who once lived in the house and where they are now. Across the street, Edie and Snapper are trying to decide what to do with Lester Stichler now that the insurance men are gone. Snapper wants to kill him, but Edie is reluctant. Finally Snapper comes up with a plan that does not require hurting the old man. Snapper has Edie help him roll Lester into some drapes before they carry him out to the car. Skink sees Edie and Snapper walk out to the car and tells Bonnie it is time to go. When they approach Edie and Snapper, Skink and Bonnie are forced at gunpoint into the car. At about the...
