Chapter 29 Summary

Stargirl wins the speech contest as she had said she would. That evening Leo and Stargirl are allowed to join the adults in the nightclub where they celebrate, drinking ginger ale and dancing. Stargirl's picture appears in the newpaper the next day, and there is even a report about the contest on the television news. People in the hotel congratulate her when they see her. When they return to Mica High however, only Dori and two teachers are there to congratulate her. Dori is holding a sign that says, "Way to Go Susan. We're Proud of You."
