Chapters 16 through 18 Summary

After several hours of looking through the city, the girls have been unable to find the mummy. Abdel arrives and tells them that the mummy was sent to distract them from something more important — the cult has kidnapped Scott. Abdel says they will let him go, but before doing that, they will replace his soul with that of an evil demon. The girls must rescue him, but Abdel warns them that if they fail, legend says they will be "condemned to live with the demons in the chaos at the edge of the universe."
