Jack is dancing with a beautiful woman in the full ballroom. Jack then finds himself talking to Grady, the caretaker who killed both his family and himself in the hotel. Grady tells Jack that he must take care of his son, and that his son is the key to advancement within the hotel. As he speaks to Grady, he can see a group of individuals, Derwent at the head, practically tormenting a man in a dog suit.
