Chapter 31, The Verdict Summary

As Jack returns to the kitchen, he bounces the passkey in his hands, and looks at Wendy and Danny firmly. He tells them he saw nothing in Room 217, and is surprised by the clarity and certainty in his voice. As he watches their faces break into relief, he realizes he wants a drink more than he ever has in his life.
