Summary

In Chapter 33, Jack locates the snowmobile and all of the parts to make it work. He watches Danny trying to make a snowman and realizes that it is not Danny who is the weak link in the equation but himself. He remembers in catechism class being faced with a picture that all the other students could see. However, Jack couldn't see the face until he walked up to the photo and cursed. Then he suddenly saw the image the others had seen. Just as clearly, he suddenly realizes that it is Danny that The Overlook wants. He believes The Overlook may be wanting to use him to tell its side of the story. So, he takes the magneto from the snowmobile and throws it out onto the snow. He suddenly feels at ease.
