Summary

In Chapter 8, the Torrence family drives to The Overlook. They stop at a scenic turnaround to see the hotel from a distance. Jack and Wendy are impressed by the view of the hotel. Danny, however, is scared as he recognizes the hotel as the place where he has seen redrum in his dreams.

In Chapter 9, the last of The Overlook’s guests are checking out when Jack, Wendy, and Danny arrive. As they look around, Danny questions his parents about the roque court. They also point out the topiary of hedge animals. Although Danny is happy that his parents are happy, he still feels worry as he sits with them on a couch in the hotel lobby.
