God even calls Rees to a greater prayer life showing Rees he should be in a state of prayer at all times. This means that he would be "hatless" throughout the day. It is the custom to wear a hat so this makes Rees stand out in public. God is working hard on Rees and the changes go beyond how often he prays. The Spirit guides Rees to counteract the attack by stepping down from the mission and turning it over to his dear friend.
