Summary

Chapter 15

In Chapter 15, Emma stands in the corner of the funeral home away from everyone. She hears someone say, did you hear she hanged herself. She tied a rope around a banister and jumped breaking her neck instantly. Emma has a headache from the vodka she drank the previous evening. Sara asks how she is and Emma tells her that she needs a break. Sara tries to get her to eat something.

Emma is upset because she feels the people do not know the woman they are mourning. Seeing the people happy and talking about her mother as if she were a good person puts Emma on edge. She takes a glass of ice and sneaks into the office that she was in the day before at the funeral home. Her tote is in the closet. She finds her vodka bottle in the tote...
